Novel Spent Acid Management project was founded in 2009 at Vatva in Ahmedabad by Shankerbhai R. Patel(Currently Chairman), with a mission to help small scale industries to achieve environmental standards cost effectively.
Mr. Patel has been associated with several industries in Gujarat since last 20 years, including GDMA, GCCI, GESCSL and Baroda Effluent Channel Project. His rich experience and involvement with these industries enabled him initiate NSCM project for establishing common facilities like CETP, SLF and spent acid management that can solve the environmental pollution issues.
 
Organization Mission
The organization was founded and promoted under Section 25on no-profit and no-loss basis. It is first such large scale unit set up in the area of 46000 SQM to reuse, recycle and recover by-products of spent acid produced by dyes, dye intermediates and other chemicals. This centralized facility aims at catering about 165 industries Gujarat around Ahmedabad.
 
The industries, involved in the manufacture of dyes, dye-intermediates and other chemical where sulphuric acid and oleum are used in the form of raw material, produces spent sulphuric acid as waste product. This waste is difficult to dilute, store or treated by the industries!
Novel Spent Acid Management facility can treat, handle and reuse this spent acid and keep them environment free from hazardous chemical and pollution thereby retaining its sustainability!
 
How It Happens
Through this facility the spent acid produced from various industrial clusters is collected and stored based on the product types. This spent acid based on their quality is sent to the suitable chemical manufacturer in the form of raw material after inventory evaluation.
This process includes various activities like segregation and collection of Spent Acid received at site in various tanks depending on the level of concentration of sulphuric acid.
 
Organization Information
There are overall 130 business units as members and currently the installed capacity nearly 400 M3/day Spent Acid for treatment. In addition, 100 M3 Colorless Spent Acid per day is delivered directly to the actual users to use it as a raw material for the manufacture of value added products!
 
Novel has proudly took an initiative to offer industrial waste exchange and by-product recovery facility to the industries using chemicals with a vision to retain the balance of environmental ecosystem by keeping it free from toxic hazards.

We are section 25 under the Companies Act, 1956 and that the company id limited and Our main Object is To collect data m survey,study, plan, design and evaluate all steps , process , operations , techniques and methods of setting and developing up of the project of acidic effluent ( spent acid ) from the industries located in Vatva, Naroda & Odhav GIDC industrial estates of Ahmedabad city to save the valuable resources and develop the infrastructure of : collect,store, and transfer for reuse of white high concentrate spent acid in textile industry , alum industry , ferrous sulphate industry , as well as in dye-intermediate industry for isolation purpose, higher percentage acidic effluent for single super phosphate manufacturing which is used as a fertilizer, lower percentage acidic effluent for making of gypsum which id re-use in the cement industries, common facility centers such as testing laboratory of the clusters of chemical industries situates in the industrial estate of Vatva, Naroda and Odhav.
